Online media to overtake linear TV viewing time in 2018
This new report from the Media investment group, GroupM (a WPP subsidiary) is a solid indicator of the shift that is happening in media entertainment from our remotes to our keypads!
It claims that for the first time ever, time spent with online media will surpass that of time spent with linear TV programming globally.
The report highlighted the commercial value of that by measuring e-commerce data from thirty-five countries. The results revealed a 17% growth in cumulative transactions over the previous year.
Accordingly, GroupM predicts a further 15% growth in 2018, which would then equal $2.4 billion or 10% of all retail.
