Disney‘s latest move in the US to launch it’s own OTT service, further blurs the line around telecom boundaries, but we’re seeing an ever increasing cross over between content programmers creating their own distribution channels (like HBO and FOX) and distribution channels creating their own original content (like Netflix and Amazon).
According to Gonzalo Rojon, director at ICT research, the Disney move is just the tip of the iceberg. He sees many evolving strategies and partnerships proving that content is still king.
